Gags
I will be honest here – gags are not my most favorite thing when it comes to bondage. Being Asian, I have a very tight jaw and a tiny mouth, so anything that goes in and stays in my mouth for an extended amount of time tends to be very uncomfortable for me. On top of that, thanks to overly active salivary glands, a gag also means a lot of drooling, which just cuts through the glamour for me.
Besides my own personal preference, I do know for a fact that many people like being gagged, and that gags are one of the most attractive parts of bondage. There is something attractive and appealing about the gag in that it really emphasizes and personalizes how helpless the model becomes when she is put into the ropes, and that it almost reshapes the model’s face, giving it a unique expression of its own, even without the help of the model’s other features.
There are two types of gags that I have been exposed to during the photo shoots with Brandibondage. The first type is the kind that is whipped up on the spot, usually made by using a rope or ribbon, making a knot, and tying the rest of the material around the back of the head. This is the type that I tend to prefer, as you can customize the size of the gag according to each model on the spot. I also find that these gags are very esthetically pleasing to the eye, especially if one is used to seeing the standard rubber ball gags. However, especially with rope gags, one must be very careful not to leave the gag in a model’s mouth for a very long time, as rope dries out the mouth very quickly. However, rope gags work very well for me personally as the ropes tend to be very absorbent, which cuts down dramatically on the amount of dribbling that may occur.
The second type of gag is the type that people are used to seeing in fetish and kink wear-selling stores. The most common type is the ball gag, which is usually a rubber ball of a certain size, attached to straps that may or may not have a buckle for tightening. Ball gags are the most commonly used gags in bondage photos and videos, and are esthetically pleasing in that they add a shiny, smooth texture to the picture, and tend to be a lot neater than a whipped-up-on-the-spot gag. However, as the balls are all a certain size, it is hard to make sure that one gag will fit all the models on one photo shoot. I find also that I run into problems when using a ball gag as the size of the ball tends to overstretch my lips and make them very dry. With ball gags, the saliva produced also have nowhere to absorb into, which causes a lot of dribbling problems for me personally. However, from my experience working on the photo shoots with Brandibondage, I have found that the majority of the models actually enjoy the ball gag. Maybe it’s really just the impulse that I have to try and push the rubber ball out of my mouth that gets to me… xoxo Anna
I am in total agreement with drooling being erotic! There is just something about the damsel drooling uncontrollably that adds to the complete helplessness of her predicament. Yummmm
Drooling while you’re gagged may not be glamorous, but it’s certainly erotic. After all, how could it possibly be made clearer just how helpless you are? Not only has your freedom of movement been taken away, but you can’t even control your saliva — all you can do is sit there and drool!
So far as “the impulse to try and push the rubber ball out of your mouth…” well, go ahead and try. Myself, I love seeing a model *trying* to get a gag off… I just don’t want to see her succeed. I’ve shot entire videos of Mara’s attempts to get her gag off!
My own lovely lady has many of the same issues with gags that you have. For this reason we tend to use a lot of duct tape gags (which I find very aesthetically pleasing). We also found a padded leather bit-gag at a fetish convention that she can wear for extended periods, looks fantastic, and muffles her speech sufficiently.
The biggest problem with gags, I’ve discovered, is that you can’t “try before you buy.” Who’d want to purchase a used gag?
